The day started off fairly quietly until we came to Little Bourton Lock. Its a shame that there's no work being done on the cottage any more...I think it was too big a challenge for the man who bought it at auction 5 years ago.
Molly decided to go running across the lock gate and ended up making a loud splash as she fell off the end...she was not impressed!!
The ducks were following their mum along the towpath near the lock before Banbury.
How well behaved were they!!!!
We got through Banbury in no time ..we had heard lots of stories about it being flooded and that it couldn't be used but it was fine when we got there and we were one of several boats going through. There was a male model modelling a range of coats and jackets just by the bridge as we came out of the lock...he certainly hadn't been holidaying in Britain looking at his tan.
Life's hard ...time for a little snooze.
Going past the pig place at Aynho ...
'ello,'ello who's this then?
We decided to moor up near Somerton deep lock. We hadn't been there long when we heard someone shouting. It was Tim from the cottage at the lock. They had lost their puppy( an Alsatian called shadow) Greg walked along the canal looking for him when Tim txt to say that he'd found him.
While I was busy sorting out the lock, Greg was photographing shrimps.
Somerton Deep Lock
As we were going through Lower Heyford, Molly decided to try walking along the gunnels and ended up falling in ....she had to swim to catch up with the boat. I think it frightened her a bit as she was quiet for an hour afterwards although she was soon back to herself.
We went past Lucy's tea gardens. It looks lovely and one day I'm going to stop there and have a nice afternoon tea.
Greg was very interested in these posh roofing tiles.
Molly decided to have a nap on the top step...she won't be doing that for much longer.
There were 2 enormous bulls in the field.
Onto the Thames at Dukes cut and the sunshine has disappeared. It looks like its going to rain. We re going to moor up early and do a few jobs and wash the boat.
There were two cuckoo's fighting in the trees opposite, I tried to get a picture but it didn't show their patterned colours.
Happy Days.
