back to the winter woolies.....

Last night as we took Molly for a walk over the field. Greg saw a barn owl swooping past..I ran back to get the camera but there was no sign of it, We did see a hare at the bottom of the field though.

There were lots of rabbits around and Greg tried his hand at taking pictures of the flowers along the towpath.

This morning was totally different to yesterday- it was cold, grey and drizzling. Over in the field I thought I saw a deer- but it was a very big bird. As we went past a field of cows and calves, a young calf came down to the canal to have a drink. A black cow came behind it, gave it a nudge and the poor thing landed with huge splash in the canal...I thought we were going to have to help it to get out (or Greg was!!) but luckily it swam to the side and managed to get out although it was not very impressed and went running around the field making a right noise.

They used to have bikes all over the gardens and walls at Fenny Compton Wharf but this is the only one left now.

Molly is getting really good at walking off the lead now...although she does think that everyone she meets needs to stroke her tummy.

Going under the old disused  railway line.

Oh dear...just as we were pulling up to  Claydon Top Lock Molly dropped her green crocodile into the canal and then just barked as it floated away. Luckily a man on a moored up boat rescued it with a litter picker and passed it back to us looking slighty worse for wear.

We moored up just past Cropedy after filling up with water and visiting the village shop....hopefully tomorrow will be a bit warmer.
Happy days.
