Off to Banbury

Later start this morning....we watched at least 6 boats go past and then decided to join the queue at the lock. We met a boat coming up who told us it was chaos in Banbury as there are limited moorings now.

As you go into Banbury there are lots and lots of warehouses now- you also go past the Fine Lady bread and cake factory-the bread smelt gorgeous.

To be fair we were the only boat in Banbury Centre. They are building a new Premier Inn which goes all along the canal by the Castle Quays Shopping Centre.
While Greg nipped into Morrisons I managed to get some pictures of some baby Moorhens.

As you go out of Banbury they've built a new housing estate which seems to go on forever.

At Grants Lock this empty lock keepers cottage has been vandalised...when we came down here last October  someone was still living in it- their belongings are still inside but all the windows have been smashed and the inside ransacked.

Molly found some poor unsuspecting man waiting at the next lock and kept throwing the stick at him-he didn't believe us when we said she d keep doing it all day if she could....His son said he'd love a dog like her!!!
On towards Aynho and the Pig Place....

There were loads of rabbits out enjoying the sunshine today.

Time to moor up for the night near Sommerton Deep Lock-Nice chicken and bacon noodles for tea tonight.

Happy days.
