This bridge is just past the Armada boat yard before you get to Newbold Tunnel. The tunnel used to light up in different colours but none of it works anymore which is a bit sad.
Enjoying the morning sunshine.
This goat lives at Clifton Cruisers- apparently he likes to go after certain members of staff and isn't very friendly. He certainly looked as if he was king of the castle on top of the climbing frame. I wouldn't like to mess with those horns!
I don't think I've ever seen so many boats out in all the time we've been out on the canal....It was like being on the M6!! We did find this rather noisy grasshopper though on the boat.
We moored up early not to far from the bottom of Napton Locks and decided to wash the boat . She looked lovely when we'd finished...although I think I drew the short straw with the collapsible bucket- every time I put it on top of the boat it deposited water all over me. Its a good job it was a lovely warm day.
Up early again Sunday morning, around the windmill and off up Napton locks we went. We got half way up and then started to meet boats coming down which made life a lot easier.
Hows this for glamping Emma? Even you could manage this Teepee with its outdoor bath tub!
We moored up in a lovely spot quite high up with views for miles. It had got really warm and Molly wasn't very impressed with her cool gel mat. By the time 5 0' clock came there were so many boats up there they were bumper to bumper and there was no room on the towpath. We decided since it had cooled down a bit we'd carry on for another hour and we soon found a lovely spot where Molly could lie outside.
We re not doing very well with the tennis balls at the minute...we bought 5 and we have 2 left. I wondered how she was getting them as I d hung the bag on a peg- and then I found the hole at the bottom of the bag!!!
Heading towards Cropedy and not a boat to be seen- although we met a few at Claydon Locks.
This lovely little cottage is at the Top Lock at Claydon. Its almost finished being done up now. There was lots of pears in the garden-luckily it was still a bit to early for picking them because you know what Greg is like!!
As we went under the bridge by Cropedy lock-no snake there this year thank goodness- I saw a little robin sitting inside.
Time to pack up for the day. We were going to have a bbq but the heavens have opened-although its well needed because the water levels are really low here at the minute.
Banbury and Aynho tomorrow.
Happy days
