Back at the meadow

We didn't set off to early on Tuesday and by the time we 'd filled up with water it was almost lunchtime.

How on earth would you steer this monster?
Now believe it or not, but there was a fox behind this bush with a rabbit in it's mouth...It just kept moving so fast that I missed it!!

These egyption ducklings are gorgeous.
This time we have noticed how few lock keepers there are at the minute. Most of the locks are self service now all day instead of just at lunch time which isn't too bad at the minute but will cause chaos later in the summer I imagine when there are lots of different sorts of boats using them. Luckily the lock keepers at Abingdon are still there because they are the friendliest and most helpful ones on the Thames.

This kingfisher was having a right busy morning....

Going through Oxford..

It was so hot today all the cows (and some horses) were in the river, cooling there feet.
We were very lucky when we got to Osney lock, as it had been broken for 2 hours and had only just re-opened. There was only a small queue!!

We went through King's Lock and carried on along the river until we found the meadow where we stopped at the beginning of June.
Happy days.
