Bridge 27

We had a very short journey yesterday. We had heard that one of the swing bridges was out of action and that you couldn't get through so we decided to head towards it and see if we could find a nice mooring on the way.

If I'm  honest the locks that we ve been through so far are some of the worst we have ever used....a lot of them are broken, the gates are really heavy and most of them take about half an hour to fill. There are 2 locks like the picture above...there's no proper sides to them -just plants and bushes !

And then you get some with fancy scalloped edges.....

An old water mill.
We moored up at this gorgeous meadow at about 1pm and Greg decided to sit outside and make a spice rack out of a piece of oak but then he had visitors......

"These flip flops look interesting..."

This one even picked up his can of beer and tried to suck out the beer.

We headed into Newbury and moored up just outside West Mills Yard.

Happy days.
