Going nowhere...

We set off about 8.30 with the sun shining and headed towards Marston Doles lock .

Just before we got there we had visitors -Pete and Jess on their boat 'Sark' who are joining us on our journey, although Pete is feeling a little bit nervous about the waves on the Thames.

Connaught Historic Racing look after all sorts of racing engines from American to formula 1.

A little bit further along is a boat in a field! Its in water but has no way out...I bet they don't have to pay for a canal and river license. Talk about land locked.

Spot the scarecrow.......
Playing around with camera tricks.....

Scully can't work out what the cows are doing..

We headed down the flight of 5 locks at Claydon...theres a lovely cottage at the top which has no vehicular access but has amazing views.
More scarecrows
There's always one that has to escape...grass is always greener on the other side.

All this way and just before Cropedy  we see a boat called 'Bedworth'.

Just outside Cropedy is a lovely old mill which Greg has got his eye on...it's in need of a little T.L.C.

This cow couldn't quite work out what was happening underneath her and kept peering over the bridge...

Lets hope the back end isn't hanging over the other side of the bridge...it could get messy!

This poor heron had just spotted his supper....
when we came along.
Curlews are usually found around the coastlines and the Thames estury ...this one was stood at the side of the canal looking for worms. I love its long curved beak.

An early start tomorrow through Banbury and Aynho.
Happy days.
