Llangollen here we come.....

We finally turned up on to the Llangollen Canal yesterday and headed up the 4 locks at Hurleston...

We passed a lovely cottage which Greg rather liked the look of the chimney stack..
We headed through Sawley Locks and then went past Wrenbury (causing chaos at the lift bridge....it took me 5 minutes to realise that you had to manually move the barrier to stop the traffic first !!!)

Greg did  most of the locks as the water raced down the side of the locks and I didn't fancy going down the wrong way...
We went up Grindley Brook staircase locks where we saw this lock keepers cottage and decided to walk into Whitchurch...well it must have been 2 miles there and the same back.....not a cream cake in sight, although we did nip into Powell's pies and bought a fantastic hand made pork pie. We also found an antique emphorium which had lots of interesting things...till I reminded Greg we were on a boat and didn't have a lot of room!!!
We saw this mean looking fella in the field next to the canal...
I managed to spot this hare just catching a few rays of afternoon sunshine in the middle of the field..

Imagine having no neighbours..This unusual 3 storey house watches over Prees junction .We moored up near Bettisfield just past a long stretch of canal called "The Quob"
Happy days
