They were just like woolly teddy bears......
We saw some ducklings that hadn't long hatched and were off over the field to get ready for their first dip....
We had 2 locks to go through and caught sight of this heron waiting in the field by the side of New Marton Locks.
Emma, I waited for ages for the woodpecker to come out...only to discover that the hole had been taken over by a family of blue tits!
I thought for 1 minute Greg had got off the boat......
The heathers were gorgeous at the side of the bridge...
The house just before Chirk aquaduct...was this the house that Jack Roberts lived in, who was employed in the 1950's on maintenance duties.
Chirk aquaduct.
Thankfully we got safely to the other side...but worse was to come....if I thought Chirk aquaduct was high, going over the Pontcysylite aquaduct was like flying....and it didn't help that just as we were about to go over, one of the day trip boats broke down and Greg being Greg went and helped pull it over the aquaduct- leaving me in a panic holding the boat at the side praying that I wouldn't have to take it over on my own!
I can't believe that there was only a railing on one side....it was a big drop. We decided to moor up in Llangollen Basin for a couple of days as we want to walk up to Horseshoe falls tomorrow and it looked like there were a few interesting shops in Llangollen that we might just need to visit...
A big hug and kiss to Tyler and Emily- eat your easter eggs and be good for daddy and Kerry!
Happy days
