Autherley Junction

We had a later start today..it was cold and misty outside so we thought that we would wait a while for the beautiful sunshine we'd been promised, but sadly it was a long time coming.
Duckingham palace looked very inviting!!

We got to Autherley Junction where there is a small stop lock. Luckily today there wasn't a queue so we went straight through.

I'm surprised this swallow sat still long enough for me to take a picture.

Oh dear someone had got in a mess...we saw the lorry come over a small bridge...not realising he had a low bridge under the motorway to get under. He had to then reverse up the narrow lane to try to get over the small bridge once again...I hope he's not still there!!

Everywhere you looked it was field after field of yellow rape seed.

This is bridge 10..Avenue Bridge which leads up to Chillington Hall where the Giffard Family used to live.

Heading towards Brewood (which is pronounced Brood) which originally consisted of a roman fort on Beacon Hill to defend Watling Street.

Over the cast Iron aquaduct which goes over the A5.

As we were heading towards Wheaton Aston there were lots of bears lurking around in the trees.....

While I was busy doing the lock at Wheaton Aston, Greg was taking pictures of a hawk that was just above my head.
We moored up just past bridge 28-not a goose in sight!
Happy Days.
