Heading off again.....

We set off from Brinklow Marina at 8.30 on Thursday morning in the lovely sunshine.

As we were going up Napton Locks, we saw a very young buffalo calf. Usually when they are a few hours old they take the mother and calf away from the herd. I think this one had slipped through the net!
We carried on until we were past Marston Doles and then moored up for the night.
The weather wasn't quite so nice the next day...In fact we had plenty of thunder , lightning and torrential rain and got as far as Cropedy before we called it a day.

Everywhere is changing colour ....the fields are turning brown as they are getting ploughed and the leaves are starting to fall off the trees- summer is definitely over .

Saw this and thought of you Ben!

There are lift bridges all along the Oxford Canal.

There are some really nice moorings along here....they've all got fruit trees and a couple of them even have shepherds huts .

After getting stuck in Banbury ( where there were 4 boats waiting to go down through the locks and one very jovial man on a go slow coming up) and nipping to Morrisons for supplies, we headed off again in the sunshine......

But not for long...we could see the black clouds gathering in the distance and the  heavens soon opened again and the rain came down in sheets.

This morning it was misty over the fields when we set off. We are hoping to get on the Thames by tonight so we set off early.

Over in the field I suddenly caught sight of some Roe deer....We were only saying last week that we hadn't seen any deer for ages and we see 3 all together.

Through Heyford...

And finally on to the Thames. It was really windy and choppy as we looked for somewhere to moor up,

And over in the field I saw another deer...

Well at least its stopped raining at the minute although its supposed to be wet again tomorrow. The plan is to get up early to see the deer.....we'll see!
Happy days.
