We set off early ish (8 o clock) and headed through Kings Lock. The locks are much bigger than on the canal.
We saw this funny creature hiding in the bushes..
This boat looks like a gypsy caravan.
At Godstow lock there are the ruins of a nunnery. There used to be a magnificent church, courts and a chapter house here in 1133.
This cormorant was sitting at the lock
Oxford in the distance....
This Heron looks like he's got a beard.
Does anyone know what tree this is?
This building at Oxford had lots of interesting statues on the walls.
We heard that these buildings were where they filmed some of the Harry Potter films.
All the different boat houses belong to different colleges in Oxford.
Someone wasn't having a good day......
There are lots of goslings around at the minute-getting a picture of them is a different story!
There are some lovely houses along the Thames . A lot of them have got boat houses which would be a lovely place to live.
There's always something to look at on the Thames....
This motorcycle track went on for ages...looking at the bumps I don't think I'd fancy having a go....especially knowing the river is at the bottom!
We moored up just past Abingdon Lock and went for a look around the shops. The market was on in the town square and while we were there a steam traction engine and trailer went past (photo to follow)
Happy days.
