We set off about 9.30 and headed towards the Hurleston locks on the Llangollen. There were lots of volunteers on and 2 men from CRT as a boat had been stuck in the bottom lock for 10 hours on Friday and they had called the CRT engineers out to pull it out with chains because of a bulge in one of the walls.

It didn't take long to get through them and sitting at the top in the distance, on the trees was a buzzard.

I wouldn't like to clean that chimney!!

A new way to use your old toilet.

Coming into Wrenbury are 2 lift bridges...this one you have to wind up by hand.

and this one stops all the traffic on the road...it took me a few minutes to work out that I needed to pull the barrier across before the bridge would lift up.

We carried on past the dusty miller and moored up not far from Quoisley Lock.

Guess who was guarding the curry Greg had made....It did taste delicious though!

It was still misty as we set off towards Norbury Junction but it was promising to be another nice day.

As we were going past all the boats at Norbury Junction I saw this owl peering out of a box on the front of a boat.

The grass is always greener on the other side.

Along Grub Street Cutting you go under high bridge with a masonry strut carrying a telegraph pole in the middle.

This car was tucked out of sight near to where 2 boats were moored.

This is the old Cadburys chocolate factory whose goods used to be carried to and from Bournville by narrowboat. It now produces birds custard and angel delight.

We moored up for the night just before Tyrley locks. Greg went out walking with molly hoping to see some stars but got the moon instead.

You can just about see the welsh hills in the background from the top of the hill.

They were lovely locks but it was a bit like riding the rapids when you came out of the locks

At the top of Audlem locks there is a little stall with cakes and scones on....the shortbread was just yum.

Just what I needed with 15 locks to go.....

We had planned to have a drink in the 'shroppie fly' but it still wasn't open when we finally reached it.

The last 2 locks of the day were at Hacks Green where there is a secret nuclear bunker . It is now a visitor attraction and they had a display of some tanks going round.
